Information You Submit
Information entered into a search form, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. South Lake Tahoe Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. If you send a message, the mailbox receives the contents needed to read and answer it.
Information Collected Automatically
Hosting services may retain ordinary server logs such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those logs can be reviewed in aggregate for reliability and page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The purposes are limited to operating the reference, correcting technical problems, measuring traffic, and improving pages. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the information described here.
Links to Outside Services
Pages link to El Dorado County and California portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The linked provider's privacy policy governs information submitted there. This is especially true of sponsored results, which are supplied by a separate company.
Who May Receive It
Hosting and technical service providers may process server logs while supporting the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above where those tools are active. Disclosure can occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise information is not shared for unrelated purposes.
Security and Retention
The pages use an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only as long as the purposes above require. There are no user accounts, passwords, or personal profiles maintained by the reference for ordinary browsing.
Visitors Under 18
South Lake Tahoe Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, use the Contact page so it can be reviewed and deleted.
Your California Privacy Rights
California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, appears in Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following. Subject to its exceptions and thresholds, it provides rights to know or access, correct, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing. Because South Lake Tahoe Residents Directory keeps very little, a request usually involves the contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, El Dorado County, or South Lake Tahoe offices are outside this reference's control; requests for those belong with the custodian. California's DROP program is a separate route for eligible data-broker deletion.
Policy Updates
